The Lister Meile is one of Hanover's most popular shopping streets. It stretches from the main railway station to Lister Platz and connects the districts of Mitte, Oststadt and List. With a length of around 1.6 kilometres, it offers a diverse mix of shops, cafés and cultural facilities.

The gastronomic scene on the Lister Meile is just as varied. From traditional restaurants to modern cafés, there is something for every taste. A popular meeting place is the Allegro Pavilion, which impresses with its diverse offerings.
The Pavillon cultural centre is located on Weißekreuzplatz and has been offering a wide range of events since 1977, including concerts, theatre performances and readings.
The Lister Meile was created in the 1970s when the former Celler Straße was redesigned as a pedestrian zone. The aim was to create an attractive shopping and promenade area. Today it is a lively boulevard that combines urban life and a neighbourhood atmosphere.
The Lister Meile regularly hosts events that attract visitors from all over Hanover. These include the weekly market on Thursdays, the Lister Meile festival in summer and the Christmas market during the Advent season.
The Lister Meile has excellent public transport connections. The tram lines 3, 7 and 9 as well as several bus lines ensure easy accessibility. It is also just a few minutes' walk from the main railway station.
