Hanover Christmas Market

Hanover's Christmas market is one of the city's most traditional events and transforms the historic old town into an atmospheric setting full of lights, scents and regional craftsmanship. From 24 November to 22 December 2025, over 130 festively decorated stalls open daily from 11:00 a.m. around the Marktkirche. The market ends at 21:00 each day.

On Ballhofplatz, the Finnish Christmas Village presents Nordic specialities and handicrafts from Lapland. In Burgstraße and the surrounding area, things get medieval: the Historic Christmas Market offers insights into old crafts, presents authentically dressed actors and allows visitors to watch traditional trades.

The supporting programme is also extensive: music, theatre, storytelling, hands-on activities and changing stage performances provide variety - especially for families with children. Daily Punch and Judy shows, creative craft activities and rides round off the programme.
