Anke FeuchtenbergerDark, poetic and disturbingly beautiful: Anke Feuchtenberger's visual worlds draw us in and never let go. Her drawings and stories move between dream and reality. They pick up on memories and illusion and unfold a quiet inner tension.
Feuchtenberger plays with female role models, blurs boundaries and creates ambivalent creatures from humans and animals. The stories follow a logic all of their own and unfold like thoughts. Themes such as childhood, the body, motherhood and growing up in the GDR run like a common thread through her visual worlds.
The exhibition centres on large-format charcoal drawings and originals from his award-winning works Comrade Cuckoo and The whore H.. They are complemented by other cross-media works such as posters, screen prints and other book projects.
