Hola Utopia Street Art Festival

Hola Utopia Street Art Festival starts its sixth edition in Hanover in 2025 - an urban cultural project that combines urban design, community and creative participation. Under the motto of how we want to live as a community, local and international artists will create large-scale murals on the city's facades over a period from 25 to 31 August 2025.

International art in public space

The Hola Utopia Street Art Festival brings 45 artists from Hanover and the twin cities of Poznań (Poland), Blantyre (Malawi), Hawaii, the Netherlands and Switzerland to the city. They will create impressive murals at locations such as Raschplatz, Weidendamm, Pfarrlandplatz, Küchengarten, Novotel am Raschplatz and the Train am Raschplatz.

Festival centre with workshops and music

New this year is the festival centre at the Andreas-Hermes-Platzwhich offers workshops, music and discussions and thus centralises the festival events On Saturday, 30 Augustvisitors can actively participate from 3 to 7 pm: Graffiti workshops from Team Future Boogie encourage creative participation - registration possible from the age of 14

Cultural development and networking

The festival is a pillar of the cultural development plan of the state capital of Hanover, which aims to promote creative freedom and strengthen cultural participation. It networks the local scene nationally and internationally and creates exchange with partners from cities such as Poznań and Blantyre.

Background and history

Since the first edition in summer 2020, the Hola Utopia Street Art Festival developed into an established cultural project in Hanover. Under the guiding principle "How do we want to live as a community in the future?", murals have been created every year since then, redefining urban space and promoting urban community
