Capitol

Linden centre

Versatile event venue in the Linden-Mitte district

The Capitol Hannover is an established venue in the Linden-Mitte district. Since its opening in 1986, it has provided space for various events and is an integral part of Hanover's cultural scene.

Architecture and history

The Capitol is located in the listed Capitol tower block, a brick building in the Expressionist style that was built in 1930. Originally used as a cinema, the building was converted into a multifunctional event venue in the 1980s. Today, the Capitol offers space for events with 400 to 1,800 guests.

Equipment and utilisation

The Capitol has modern sound, video and lighting technology as well as a fully equipped stage. The premises extend over two floors and offer a total area of around 2,000 square metres. The location is suitable for a variety of events, including concerts, theatre performances, readings and corporate events.

Location and accessibility

The Capitol is centrally located in the Linden-Mitte district, directly on Schwarzer Bär square. There are excellent public transport connections: tram lines 9 and 17 stop at the nearby "Schwarzer Bär" stop. For visitors arriving by car, parking is available in the Ihme-Zentrum multi-storey car park and in Blumenauer Straße
