Fiedelerplatz in the Döhren district is a central meeting point for residents and visitors. With its regular markets, surrounded by cafés and shops, it offers a lively atmosphere and invites you to linger.
The weekly market has been held on Fiedelerplatz since 1926. Every Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., up to 45 stalls offer a wide range of products on an area of around 2,400 square metres. From fresh fruit and vegetables to baked goods, flowers and organic produce - you'll find everything you need for your daily needs here. The friendly atmosphere and the high quality of the products make the market a popular shopping experience.
In addition to the weekly market, the farmers' market takes place every Tuesday from 14:00 to 18:00. The focus here is on regional products: quail eggs, water buffalo specialities, trout, blueberries and strawberries, potatoes, vegetables, dairy products, bread and flowers. The relaxed atmosphere under the old trees of the square is often accompanied by live music, making shopping a special experience.
Fiedelerplatz was laid out in 1905 and is named after Hermann Fiedeler, a respected farmer and mayor of Döhren. His commitment to the community is still honoured today by the square and Fiedelerstraße.
Fiedelerplatz is well connected to the public transport network and is easy to reach. In the surrounding area you will find numerous cafés, boutiques and historic buildings that make up the charm of the Döhren district. A stroll through the Wilhelminian-style streets around the square is well worthwhile.
