Football stadium and event location - the Heinz von Heiden Arena is a popular venue for sports fans and event organisers. As the home ground of Bundesliga football team Hannover 96, the stadium seats 49,000 people and is also Lower Saxony's largest event venue. The arena is located directly on the Maschsee lake in the centre of the city and is within walking distance.
Conference and event location
Outside of the football season, the Heinz von Heiden Arena hosts exciting open-air events. Some international stars such as PINK, Coldplay, Helene Fischer and Herbert Grönemeyer have also performed in the stadium. In addition to the large interior of the Heinz von Heiden Arena, there are also individually plannable rooms for events of all kinds. From the Niedersachsenstadion to the Heinz von Heiden Arena
Built in 1952, the arena was once known as the Niedersachsenstadion for many years. Shortly before the stadium was remodelled from 2003 to 2005, it was renamed the AWD Arena and taken over by the insurance group HDI Gerling in July 2013. Since 2022, the family-owned company Heinz von Heiden GmbH Massivhäuser has been the new sponsor and namesake.
