The Kunstkreis Laatzen e.V. has been in existence since 1984 and currently has around 130 members. Thanks to this community, with the help of the town of Laatzen and sponsors, the Kunstkreis maintains its domicile in the Rethen district, which enables courses and activities to take place in exhibition and work rooms.

The work of the Kunstkreis focuses on organising exhibitions by national and international artists in its own gallery space. In addition, exhibitions are held in partnership at other locations, e.g. at the Hans-Lilje-Haus in Hanover and the Rethen Family Centre.

1. diverse exhibitions

The Kunstkreis Laatzen regularly presents exhibitions by local and international artists. The exhibition "Members Only" is currently on display in the Kunstkreishaus at Hildesheimer Straße 368. The opening took place on 28 May 2025 and the exhibition can be viewed until the end of July

2. inspiring readings

Literature lovers get their money's worth at the readings that take place regularly. In May 2025, for example, a reading was organised with the artist Monja Klein, who offered a personal insight into her artistic work.

3. dedicated theatre group

The theatre group "BühnenTiKk" is an integral part of the Kunstkreis. Since 2020, it has been staging boulevard plays every year. In March 2025, the play "Bubblegum und Brillanten" was performed at the Erich Kästner School Centre.

4. creative workshops and courses

The Kunstkreis offers a variety of courses and workshops, ranging from painting and photography to sculpture. These courses not only promote creative development, but also the exchange of ideas among like-minded people.

5. cooperation with other organisations

In addition to its own premises, the Kunstkreis also organises exhibitions in other institutions such as the Rethen Family Centre and the Hanns-Lilje-Haus in Hanover.

6. participation in municipal events

The Kunstkreis Laatzen actively participates in municipal events such as the "Park der Sinne" festival, where it is represented with children's painting activities and dance performances.

7. promotion of young talent

The Kunstkreis Laatzen supports young artists with the annual Laatzen Art Prize. The works submitted will be exhibited in the Leine Centre in Laatzen and prizes will be awarded for the best works.
