Maschpark is an approximately 10-hectare park in Hanover's Mitte district, south of the city centre. It was created around 1900 and was the first municipal park in Hanover. The park has not changed its original form and is a testimony to German garden design at the end of the 19th century.
Planning for the Maschpark began in 1895 during the construction of the town hall and was realised by Julius Trip, a leading garden artist. To this day, the park has retained its original form and offers a variety of plant species, including evergreen rhododendrons, magnolias and impressive large trees such as American red oaks and silver maples.

The Maschpark regularly serves as a venue for cultural events. Open-air concerts and theatre performances take place here in summer. A particular highlight is the annual Klassik Open Air, which attracts many people from the Hannover region to the Maschpark.
Maschpark is centrally located in Hanover, right next to the New Town Hall and just a few minutes' walk from the city centre. The August Kestner Museum to the west, the Lower Saxony State Museum to the east and the Sprengel Museum to the south are in the immediate vicinity.
