The NDR Konzerthaus Niedersachsen, also known as the NDR Landesfunkhaus Niedersachsen, is an important institution for music and media in Hanover. Situated at Rudolf-von-Bennigsen-Ufer 22, on the banks of the Maschsee, it combines architectural elegance with cultural diversity.
Built in the 1950s, the building ensemble of the NDR Concert Hall Lower Saxony was honoured with the Laves Prize. It consists of several parts, including the Large and Small Broadcasting Halls, which are known for their outstanding acoustics. The Funkhaus has been used for decades as a production facility for radio and television programmes as well as a venue for concerts.
Programmes such as NDR 1 Niedersachsen are produced in the NDR Konzerthaus Niedersachsen. The NDR Radiophilharmonie is based here and uses the halls for rehearsals and recordings. The concert hall also offers guided tours where visitors can take a look behind the scenes.
The concert hall is located in the Südstadt district and is easily accessible by public transport. The "NDR Landesfunkhaus" stop is in the immediate vicinity. There are car parks in the surrounding area for visitors.
