On the western shore of Lake Springhorst lies the recreation area "At the Springhorstsee" - the place for bathing fun and relaxation from everyday stress. The Berkhan family has been running an idyllic campsite and an inviting indoor pool here for more than 50 years. The lake, which was once created by gravel mining, covers a generous area of 450 x 200 metres and offers crystal-clear water of drinking water quality.
A special highlight is the public bathing area that stretches along the western side of the lake. There, gentle sandy beaches and sunbathing lawns await visitors, creating a wonderful atmosphere to relax and enjoy.

The "Am Springhorstsee" recreation area has much more to offer. In addition to the crystal-clear water, there is an inviting indoor pool with a pleasant 30°C water temperature. Here, water lovers can swim and splash around to their heart's content. There are also two bowling alleys and younger guests can enjoy the colourful children's playground, which promises plenty of adventure and fun.
Besides bathing fun, the Springhorstsee also offers great activities for nature lovers and anglers. The surroundings of the lake are characterised by extensive agricultural areas, such as fields and meadows. Here you can find peace and relaxation in the midst of nature. For all fishing enthusiasts, it is allowed to search for the big catches in the lake and pursue the fishing experience.
If you need a snack in between, you can find delicious snacks and refreshing drinks in the kiosk. For an extensive meal, the terrace restaurant with its 200 seats invites you to enjoy a breathtaking view over the lake. And those who want to stay a little longer at the Springhorstsee can find pleasant accommodation in the hotel opposite. At the campsite, guests will find spacious pitches for their motorhomes and tents between beautiful stands of trees.
The safety of bathers is close to the heart of the recreation area. Therefore, regular examinations of the bathing water are carried out by the health department. Before the start of the season and during the bathing season, samples are taken and tested for bacteria.
