Van Gogh Exhibition Hanover - Experience world-class digital art

From 12 November 2025, the Alte Druckerei in Hanover will become the venue for an international cultural format: the Van Gogh exhibition in Hanover will bring a multimedia concept to the capital of Lower Saxony that uses modern technologies to present classical art in a new light. "Van Gogh - The Immersive Experience" is recognised worldwide as a pioneering form of digital art presentation.

With a 360-degree installation design that combines oversized projections and digital animations, a visual spatial experience is created that completely surrounds visitors. The works of the Dutch painter are not only viewed, but also integrated into a digitalised environment in which viewers physically move between image content. Over twelve million visitors worldwide have accessed the format to date - now it can be seen for the first time in Hanover.

Around 600 square metres of exhibition space in the Alte Druckerei provide room for an immersive concept that sets new standards in the presentation of art. Van Gogh's paintings do not appear as classic prints or framed originals, but as digitally animated light installations. These are projected onto floors, walls and objects to fill the room and synchronised with sound and audio elements.

The projections are based on the artist's best-known works, including "Sternennacht", "Sonnenblumen" and "Das Nachtcafé". The aim is not a pure depiction, but rather an expansive staging in which image, sound and spatial design merge into a coherent unit.
