Gioachino Rossini, actually famous for his rousing operas, created a late work of enchanting beauty here, which in its original version - accompanied by two pianos and a harmonium - unfolds a very special, almost chamber music-like charm.
You can look forward to an interplay of the highest precision and emotional passion. Together with an ensemble of first-class soloists, the Herrenhausen Choir will bring to life the entire spectrum from intimate, quiet moments to powerful, jubilant choral movements.
The combination of two pianos (Johanna Marie and Franziska Hennig) and the rarely heard harmonium (Ryoko Morooka) promises an authentic and transparent sound experience that perfectly emphasises Rossini's artful harmonies. Under the direction of Harald Röhrig, you can expect a concert evening that blurs the boundaries between the sacred and the secular in a marvellous way - a must for all lovers of sophisticated vocal music.
