The Red Thread

The Red Thread - Discover Hanover on your own

Discover Hannover on your own with the accessible city tour of the Red Thread. Since 1970, the 4.2 km long line has run along 36 sights through the city centre.

It starts with the Tourist Info, past the Opera House, the Aegidienkirche, the New City Hall and the High bank to the fascinating Nanas by Niki de Saint Phalle. Explores the Historical Museum, the Leineschloss, the Market Church and much more. The path continues along the Market hall, the Kröpcke until finally the tour ends under the "tail" at the station.

Inspired by the Freedom Trail in Boston, the Red Thread offers an exciting journey through Hanover's history.

The most important sights in one booklet

The starting point of the Red Thread is the Tourist Information. Here or in the online shop there is also a Accompanying brochure in pocket format, which contains background knowledge and information about the 36 sights and stations.
